About this deal

I was bleaching my hair twice a month, and laying in the tanning bed twice a day, EVERY day… Don’t let my reminiscing fool you. I only have a cheap dupe of it now, I bought it for nostalgia and use it as a room spray, but my ex smelled it one day and asked me to get him one so I did. I know the Joop of today, while reminiscent of its old self, is essentially a clone; a situation where they create (as cheaply as possible) something that smells like the original formula. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice.

Having sniffed this on my hand today and immediately scrambled to find where I could pick up a bottle, I am happy to say I am in love with this classic fragrance. This, and the aftershave balm version you can get in discounter gift sets - which itself is a classier, deeper, subtler take on the scent - both have the potential to attract attention from 30 plus members of the opposite sex, either because they have a positive scent memory of this fragrance, or because of its sweet, pheromonal aura. The sillage is undeniably robust, projecting an assertive presence that may not be suitable for those seeking subtlety. With the modern formula, it’s almost necessary to bring the bottle along for touch-up around lunch— and that’s only to make it perceivable, not overwhelming and loud (which is what I was going for when I wore this religiously.

The honey + cinnamon combo comes across a little animalic but I actually like it, probably because it’s so sweet and synthetic it never smells “real” enough to actually be dirty. Its discordant composition, lack of subtlety, and overwhelming synthetic sweetness make it a regrettable choice for anyone seeking a sophisticated or even tolerable scent experience. r/fragrance is an inclusive, adult community for discussing finished retail perfumes and other scented personal and home-care products.I had a car though, it was red, and I could hit 100 in just a few seconds between Chalybeate and Brownsville at night before there were very many cops to worry about here. There was a whiff of aniseed at the start and some confusion but not much later a floral-jasmine-spicy-woody patchouli not unlike Givenchy Gentleman definitely deeper than the Joop! The smell is a little hard to define, but, to me, it smells vaguely like men's soap with sweet tobacco juice and faded cologne. Unfortunately, they are shrouded in an artificiality that makes even its leather accord smell like plastic.

But by the time Thursday night rolled around it's fair to say I was ready, my outfit was incredible, my hair perfect, my breath minty fresh, and I had picked the most expensive restaurant I could find in an attempt to impress. Then after a few minutes (5-15 minutes), it becomes really sweet, and by sweet i mean the cinnamon start getting stronger and the florals start blossoming on your skin. Although, it's not listed, there's a very prominent synthetic cherry note, which reminds me of flavoured sweet drops. So, when I got the chance to smell it in a TJMaxx, I sprayed it on myself, and I actually didn't mind it.Joop fragrances are part of a multi-facetted brand, created by the German designer Wolfgang JOOP in 1986.
