Has a very high and heavily optimised torque for screw driving and speed for drilling, as it has a two speed planetary gearbox Suitable for different materials For drilling and screwdriving in wood and metal or impact drilling in masonry, Drilling in metal 2.5 m/s² As for performance, this cordless combi drill uses Bosch’s advanced Syneon Chip technology that intelligently controls energy usage for each project to give you extended runtimes. This energy powers 20 pre-selectable torque of 38Nm, an impact rate of 20.250 BPM and a speed of 1350 RPM enough to see you through applications like drilling, screwdriving, impact drilling in wood metal and even masonry. It also provides you with adequate lighting as you go about with your duties in the dark or poorly lit areas like in the basement. It’s very efficient for someone with DIY projects. When other cordless drills suffer from drill bits getting loose during drilling, the Bosch PSB 1800 LI-2 cordless combi drill maintains its workrate even in the toughest of materials. What we liked This drill is easy to use and has a nice range of features. It is very well made and a good choice for work around the home and garden. It is heavy duty enough to be able to do about 99% of all jobs around the home. Write: DIY Garden (Harris Creative Ltd), Lytchett House, 13 Freeland Park, Wareham Road, Poole, Dorset, BH16 6FA

The PSB 1800 LI-2 lithium-ion two-speed combi from Bosch is suitable for drilling in wood (3 cm diameter), metal (1 cm diameter) and masonry (1 cm diameter) and can also be used as a screwdriver on these materials. It is conveniently cordless and always ready to use thanks to the lithium-ion technology and a 60 minute battery life. As the appliance is compact and weighs a light 1.3 kg, it is comfortable to use and won't cause your arm to ache after a few minutes. The softgrip also plays a part in making sure the drill is convenient to use. Combine this with its drilling and impact drilling functionality and it is a great all-round combi drill. Drills do require the ability to be able to drive fixings from time to time and it is personal preference on whether or not you prefer an impact driver for the job. This PSB 1800 combi drill from Bosch has the option should you require it. One of the big power tool brands, especially in the UK, Bosch have a decent slice of the market with their two broad levels of equipment. Their “blue” professional tools and “green” DIY tools vary massively in their capabilities as well as cost. I think it’s fair to say that the PSB 1800 fits squarely in the green DIY camp.

The Bosch PSB 1800 weighs around 1.3kg with the battery attached. It makes it a very lightweight cordless drill. Having lightweight helps you to hold it for a much longer time and drill with increased precision. It comes with a double screwdriver bit, so this cordless drill can also be used as a mechanical screwdriver for screwing as well as unscrewing. Bosch is a German brand and they are well known for making high quality tools. Their drills are no exception and all of their cordless drills use Lithium-Ion batteries which are the best that you can get. The PSB 1800 LI-2 cordless combi drill – power and comfort for drilling and screwdriving operations This is my favourite drill in the Bosch range. It feels perfect in your hand, compared to other models, it is light, well balanced and will pretty much do any job you can think off. The hammer action is particularly good and I would recommend this model very highly.

Can you tell me the maximum length this drill can go into a wood? Can you tell me the maximum length this drill can go into a wood? The controls are easy to use and highly intuitive. The forward/reverse switch is coupled with a handy forward/reverse indicator at the top of the drill, so you’ll always know the direction setting. The overall feeling I got from this cordless drill is that it’s all a bit underwhelming. The design is unremarkable, and the grip isn’t the best. There are a couple of little features like the direction indicator that look good but don’t add to the performance. The drill isn’t very responsive, and the uninspiring drilling speed makes for slow work. The PSB 1800 has 20 different pre-selectable torque settings and 2-speed gearbox along with drill and impact drill settings. You have optimal power and settings for every situation.

Lightweight – It only weighs around 1.3 kgs which makes it very lightweight and can fit into small space while working. Bosch also has an accessory set for the drills. The set comes with a 91 piece set with bits and screwdrivers. It has 11 metal bits, 11 masonry bits, and 8 wood drills. The Accessory set is only half the price of the drill and If you already don’t have a bit and screwdriver set then this is the must-buy an accessory for the Bosch PSB 1800 Cordless Drill. Bosch PSB 1800 Combo Offer pre-selectable torque settings plus a drill and impact drill setting – optimum power for every application The same battery and charger set you get with this cordless drill will work in a range of cordless tools from trusted tool brands including Flymo and Gardena. It’s something I’d like to see more tool brands get involved with, in my opinion. We did an article on The Best Impact Drivers of 2021 should you want to find out more about its counterpart the Bosch Professional GDR impact driver. However, it provides enough torque to drive most fixings in. Interchangeable batteries – Great for longer operations. You can have one battery in charging and swap it with another when you are out of juice. If anything, the grip is a little on the small side. I’ve got large hands, and the bottom of my palm started rubbing on the battery release button surround almost immediately. I don’t know how comfortable this will be over time, and I don’t think it would be great to use with gloves on. If you’ve used Bosch tools before, you’ll know they come in two different levels. There are the blue Professional-level tools and the green DIY tools. The PSB 1800 fits into the DIY level, which means it’s a capable drill but not designed for heavy everyday use.

This drill is lightweight, easy to use, efficient and powerful for DIY projects around the house as well as small applications like mounting your TV or a portrait on the wall. It also has more torque to offer than its alternatives. We would recommend it over the res. However, if you want something that can handle heavy-duty applications like concrete, then the Bosch Cordless Hammer Drill ideal too. Supports the same batteries as the rest of the Bosch range, offering to swap batteries about with other tools in the range. The Bosch PSB 1800 is one of our favorite cordless drills. It is also one of the most popular among customers. This will really help you out in your DIY home projects and light-handed tasks. However, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. You get a decent case and two batteries to play with. These two Power Alliance batteries can fuel a range of tools by different brands, which is remarkable in the age of proprietary systems. It’s a good place to start as long as you don’t expect this cordless drill to perform like one of Bosch’s Professional level tools. While 1.5Ah batteries are not the longest-lasting options, thanks to this drill’s lithium-Ion batteries and its energy-efficient Syneon Chip, you’ll find that you’ll get a lot done with just one battery.
